The legend is separated from the shield by a raised inner circle, with beaded or dotted punctuation marks dividing the abbreviated royal titles. The inscription is rendered in bold, blocky Latin capitals typical of the hammered coinage of the Copenhagen Mint during the reign of Frederik III.
