| Obverse lettering | FREDERIC.3.D:G.D (Translation: Frederik III (King of) Denmark by the Grace of God) |
| Reverse description | The reverse features a central circular cartouche enclosing the denomination inscription in three lines: II / SKIL / DANS, denoting two Skilling Dansk. Flanking dots accent the numeral II above. The surrounding outer legend, separated by a raised inner circle, reads NOR.VAN.G.REX.1655, giving the regnal titles King of Norway, the Wends and the Goths, along with the date 1655. The inscription is rendered in bold, blocky Latin capitals typical of the hammered coinage of the Copenhagen Mint during the reign of Frederik III. The flan is irregular in shape and thickness, consistent with the hand-struck production method of the period. |
