| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI, modelled by Thomas Humphrey Paget, occupies the central field. The king is depicted with finely rendered hair and a plain truncation, below which the engraver's initials 'HP' appear discreetly. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIVS VI REX IMPERATOR, arranged along the upper and lower periphery. The design is framed by a beaded border running the full circumference of the coin. |
