| Obverse description | Large numeral '2' dominates the central field, rendered in a bold, stylised typeface. The denomination is further inscribed below the numeral in three scripts: Sinhala ('රුපියල් දෙකයි'), Tamil ('இரண்டு ரூபாய்'), and Latin ('TWO RUPEES').
