The Trinity Suburb — Troitskoye Predmestye — is one of Minsk's oldest surviving districts, though "surviving" requires qualification: the neighborhood was largely reconstructed in the 1980s after wartime destruction and Soviet-era neglect had gutted the original 19th-century fabric. What stands today is a careful recreation rather than a preservation, which gives this circulation commemorative an irony the National Bank almost certainly didn't intend.
