| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Russian Federation's double-headed eagle coat of arms in high relief at centre, crowned with three imperial crowns, holding an orb and sceptre, with a shield bearing St. George slaying the dragon on its breast. The curved Cyrillic legend РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by two decorative diamond-shaped ornaments at either side. Below the eagle, in the lower field, the inscriptions БАНК РОССИИ, 2 РУБЛЯ, and 2016 г. are arranged in three horizontal lines. To the left of the eagle's base appears the silver fineness mark Ag 925, and to the right the weight indicator 15,55, accompanied by the Moscow Mint monogram (ЛМД). |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a finely modelled bust of the composer Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev in three-quarter left-facing view, rendered in frosted relief against a mirror-polished field. He is depicted wearing round wire-rimmed spectacles and a high-collared jacket. In the background, stylised geometric forms suggestive of a grand piano lid are incused into the field, accompanied by decorative musical staves and notes sweeping across the lower left and upper right portions of the design. To the left of the portrait, the birth and death years 1891 and 1953 are inscribed in two lines, while the name С.С. ПРОКОФЬЕВ appears in bold Cyrillic letters along the lower border. |
