| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central cross dividing the field into four quarters, each framed by a quatrefoil or polylobed inner border, bearing alternating castles of Castile and rampant lions of León in high relief. The date 1729 appears prominently above the cross in the upper field, flanked by small rosette ornaments. The circumferential legend HISPANIARUM REX encircles the design, with the Seville Mint mark 'S' visible at the beginning of the legend. Small ornamental stops separate the legend elements, and a reeded outer border frames the entire reverse. |

Felipe V abdicated in favor of his son Luis I in January 1724, then reclaimed the throne seven months later when Luis died of smallpox. The disruption to Seville's minting operations during that period created inconsistencies in dies and assayer records that persist into the 1729–1730 issues. The Seville mint's output for these years falls under assayer 'J' (Juan de Mora), whose mark appears on Cal#1429 attributed pieces.
