A partial Latin legend encircles the design, reading :PHILIPVS:III:DEI:GRATIA:, identifying the issuer as Philip III by the grace of God. Typical of hammered macuquina (cob) coinage, the flan is irregular with portions of the legend and design partially off-flan. |
