| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Carlos III facing right, rendered in the armored portrait style typical of late 18th-century Spanish colonial coinage, with the royal legend CAROLUS III DEI G. encircling the effigy and the date 1786 appearing in the exergue. Applied to the field to the right of the bust is the Cuban lattice countermark of 1841, consisting of a rectangular punch bearing a grid or lattice pattern enclosing a central sunburst or rosette motif, applied by Cuban authorities to validate the host coin for local circulation. The bust is uncrowned and faces right in the classical tradition established under the Madrid mint's milled coinage series. |

The arms are rendered in the standard Bourbon heraldic style of the period, with the crowned shield quartered with the castles of Castile and the lions of León, typical of Madrid mint production under Carlos III. |
