Obverse description Central cross of Jerusalem, with lions passant and castles arranged alternately in the four quarters. The denomination numeral '2' appears above the cross. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the entire design, invoking the king's name and titles. The design is characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage of colonial Spanish America, struck on an irregularly shaped planchet.
