| Beschrijving keerzijde | A displayed single-headed eagle occupies the central field, its wings spread and feathers rendered in vigorous strokes consistent with mid-sixteenth-century hammered billon technique. The eagle, symbolizing the suzerainty of King Ferdinand I of the Romans, is contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend in Gothic letterforms reads FERDINADVS REX R, an abbreviated reference to Ferdinand as King of the Romans. The flan is irregular at the edges, and the strike shows typical unevenness of hand-hammered feudal coinage. The overall design closely follows imperial iconographic conventions of the period. |
