Surrounding the central device, the name of the country radiates outward in all eleven official languages, arranged around the circumference of the field. The date 2003 is split either side of the coat of arms, with '20' to the left and '03' to the right. |

The denomination R2 is inscribed in large characters in the lower centre of the field, integrated boldly into the design. The engraver's initials CM appear in the lower left field. The overall design is rendered in a high-relief, wildlife-art style against a mirror-polished proof background. |
