正面描述 The Saudi Arabian national emblem occupies the center of the field, depicting a date palm above two crossed swords, all rendered in fine relief. A continuous Arabic legend encircles the emblem, running along the upper and lower periphery of the coin. The inscription identifies the ruler and his titles in the calligraphic Thuluth script typical of Saudi coinage of this period.

附加信息

This issue spans the reign of Fahd bin Abdulaziz, who came to power in 1982 following the death of his half-brother Khalid. The SAMA series it belongs to was introduced partly to rationalize the dual denomination system — the Qirsh and Halala designations appearing together on the same coin reflect a transitional accounting convention rather than any change in monetary policy.

Fahd suffered a debilitating stroke in 1995, after which Crown Prince Abdullah assumed effective governance while Fahd remained nominal king until his death in 2005. Coins bearing his name continued striking through that entire period of diminished rule.
