| 正面描述 | The coat of arms of Isla de Chiloé occupies the central field, depicted within an oval cartouche surmounted by a crown and flanked by decorative foliage and cannons. The shield features a lighthouse or tower motif above stylized waves, with stars and a globe-like element visible within the arms. The legend ISLA DE CHILOÉ arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin lettering. The numeral 2 appears prominently below the coat of arms, with the denomination POUNDS inscribed on a ribbon banner at the base. |

Isla de Chiloé has no standing as an independent issuing authority under Chilean law. These "Chilean States" issues are produced for the novelty collector market — not circulated currency, not recognized tender — and the series exists purely as a commercial product dressed in the grammar of official coinage. The Hemidactylus mabouia itself is native to sub-Saharan Africa and tropical America, but is notably absent from Chiloé, which makes the pairing geographically arbitrary.
