A Greek meander (key) frieze ornaments the lower portion of the central disc, above the denomination numeral 2 and the Pobjoy Mint mark PM, while the inscription THE LERNEAN HYDRA is positioned in the upper field of the centre. The nickel brass outer ring bears the legend THE LABOURS OF HERCULES along the left and upper arc and POUNDS along the lower arc, separated by a continuous beaded inner border. |
