| Beschrijving keerzijde | The copper-nickel centre features a full-colour printed illustration of a fruit bat suspended upside-down, wings partially spread, set against a naturalistic background of foliage rendered in greens, ochres, and russet tones. The bat is depicted with dark blue-grey wings and a pale underbody, with red eyes visible at the lower centre of the composition. The surrounding nickel brass ring carries the commemorative legend '60 YEARS OF JERSEY ZOO' arcing across the upper field, flanked by decorative foliate sprays, with the dates '1959' and '2019' separated by a small emblem at the lower arc. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Jersey Zoo — officially the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust — was founded in 1959 by Gerald Durrell specifically as a breeding sanctuary for endangered species rather than a conventional zoo. The lesser horseshoe bat, native to the Channel Islands, became one of the Trust's local conservation focuses as agricultural intensification steadily reduced its roost sites and foraging habitat across the British Isles. The 60th anniversary in 2019 prompted this series of issues, each tied to a species connected to Durrell's work.
