| Beschrijving keerzijde | The copper-nickel centre displays the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom in full heraldic detail: a quartered shield borne by a crowned lion guardant dexter and a unicorn sinister, both chained, surmounted by the Imperial State Crown. Below the shield, a compartment bears the Castle of Gibraltar, and two scrolled banners carry the motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. The designer's initials DG appear below the composition. The surrounding nickel-brass ring bears the circumferential legend · HIS MAJESTY KING CHARLES III · GOD SAVE THE KING · in bold raised Latin lettering. |

Gibraltar's coronation coinage occupies an odd jurisdictional space — the territory issues its own currency distinct from British pounds sterling, yet its monetary authority answers ultimately to London. The May 2023 coronation of Charles III prompted a wave of commemorative issues across Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, Gibraltar among them, each operating under separate issuing authority despite sharing the same monarch.
KM# 182 is one of several denominations Gibraltar struck for this event, the bimetallic format chosen to distinguish the commemorative from standard circulation issues.
