Reverse description The copper-nickel centre displays the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom in full heraldic detail: a quartered shield borne by a crowned lion guardant dexter and a unicorn sinister, both chained, surmounted by the Imperial State Crown. Below the shield, a compartment bears the Castle of Gibraltar, and two scrolled banners carry the motto DIEU ET MON DROIT. The designer's initials DG appear below the composition. Additional information

Gibraltar's coronation coinage occupies an odd jurisdictional space — the territory issues its own currency distinct from British pounds sterling, yet its monetary authority answers ultimately to London. The May 2023 coronation of Charles III prompted a wave of commemorative issues across Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, Gibraltar among them, each operating under separate issuing authority despite sharing the same monarch.

KM# 182 is one of several denominations Gibraltar struck for this event, the bimetallic format chosen to distinguish the commemorative from standard circulation issues.
