This particular piece commemorates the Unknown Warrior interred at Westminster Abbey in November 1920, a burial that followed a deliberate policy of anonymity: the body was selected by Brigadier General Wyatt from multiple unidentified remains exhumed from the Western Front, specifically so no family could claim it as their own.
