| Opmerkingen |
Issued to mark Pope John Paul II's February 1981 visit to the Philippines, this note was produced as a commemorative circulation piece rather than a purely collectible item — it entered general use alongside the regular 2 Piso series. Giesecke & Devrient had been printing Philippine currency since the 1970s, and their Leipzig facility handled the run. The papal visit itself was the second by a sitting pope to the Philippines; Paul VI had visited in 1970, making the country unusual in having received two pontiffs within a single decade.
