| 裏面の説明 | Dark brown letterpress design on cream paper, with the circular arms of Regensburg — two crossed keys on a shield — set centrally within a dense foliate guilloche border. The city name inscription in Gothic (Fraktur) script arcs around the central vignette, and the printer's imprint 'J. Heinrich Sehele Graph. Kunstanstalt Regensburg' appears in small type at the lower margin. |

Regensburg issued its own small-denomination emergency currency — Kleingeldscheine — during the acute coin shortage that gripped Germany from 1916 onward as base metals were diverted to the war effort. A 2 Pfennig denomination is unusually low, even by Notgeld standards; most municipalities didn't bother printing anything beneath 5 Pfennig, making this piece rarer in conception than in survival numbers alone.
Heinrich Sehele's workshop was a local Regensburg printer, not a specialist banknote house, which was typical of how these municipal issues were produced — civic authorities working with whoever was nearby and capable.
