| Obverse description | Black intaglio print on white cotton paper. A central oval vignette contains a portrait bust of a distinguished gentleman in early 19th-century attire, flanked by two allegorical female figures in side vignettes — one to the left holding a palette and brush, the other to the right wearing a helmet. Large numeral 2 appears in ornate frames on either side of the central portrait, with the denomination DOS PESOS inscribed on a panel below, accompanied by the legend MONEDA NACIONAL ORO SEGUN LEY DE 5 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 1881.
