Reverse description A floriated (flowered) cross occupies the central field, its four arms adorned with floral terminals and separated by decorative cusps, with a six-pointed star mintmark at the centre within a quatrefoil. A crown device marks the commencement of the circumferential legend, which is rendered in Gothic uncial characters. The date 1500 appears integrated within the legend. The design is typical of Burgundian-Netherlandish cross-type coinage struck at the Maastricht Vroehof mint.
