Obverse description Crowned heraldic shield bearing a central lion, set within a multilobed (polylobe) inner frame. The crowned arms are flanked by decorative elements in the field, with the legend running along the outer periphery in Gothic uncial lettering. The legend does not intersect with the polylobe frame above the shield. The overall composition is characteristic of late-medieval Burgundian Low Countries coinage under Philip the Handsome.
