Issued to mark the turn of the millennium, this coin was produced by the Bank of Israel during a period when commemorative silver issues had become a significant revenue stream for the mint — a deliberate policy shift in the 1990s toward collector-market production. The KM#329 designation places it within a well-documented run of Israeli commemoratives from that decade, many struck at the Israel Coins and Medals Corporation facility in Jerusalem.
