Beschrijving voorzijde Cast copper cash coin of round form with a central square hole, the field bearing four Chinese characters in regular script (楷書) disposed in the conventional cruciform arrangement around the perforation. Reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left, the legend reads 常平通寶 (Sangpyong Tongbo), identifying this as a coin of the Joseon Dynasty's standard Sangpyong currency series. The characters are rendered in raised relief against a flat, unadorned field, with no inner or outer rim decoration beyond the plain raised border. The casting surface displays typical hand-finishing characteristics of Korean provincial mint production, with slight irregularities consistent with period manufacture.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents two Chinese characters in raised regular script disposed vertically above and below the central square perforation. The character 咸 (Ham, denoting the Hamgyong province) appears above the hole, and 宿 (Suk, a cyclical designation indicating the series or batch number) appears below. The field is otherwise plain, enclosed within a raised outer rim, with no additional ornamentation. The casting quality is consistent with that of the obverse, exhibiting the characteristic flat inner rim framing the square hole.
