A beaded inner circle encloses the central device. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial characters reads PHS DEI GRA ARCHID AVST DVX B, referencing Philip by the grace of God, Archduke of Austria and Duke of Brabant. The flan is irregular, as characteristic of hammered coinage of the period. |
