A fleur-de-lis appears in the second (upper left) quadrant and a rampant lion in the third (lower right) quadrant, both emblems closely associated with Burgundian and Flemish heraldic tradition. The cross and accompanying charges are enclosed within a plain inner circle, beyond which a Gothic circular legend reads around the full circumference.
