| Opmerkingen |
Sportverein Eintracht was one of hundreds of German sports clubs that issued their own Notgeld during the hyperinflationary spiral of the early 1920s, when municipal and private entities alike plugged the gap left by an acute shortage of small-denomination coinage. Club-issued scrip of this kind circulated almost exclusively among members and local businesses willing to honor it — redemption outside that tight social circle was never guaranteed, and many holders were simply left with worthless paper once the issuing body lost interest or funds.
Kunstanstalt Eduard Binder was a Celle-based printer active in the regional Notgeld trade. The designer credit to König-Eschede is notable — Eschede being a small town northeast of Celle, suggesting a local draughtsman rather than a commercial design house.
