| Descripción del anverso | Printed in red on pink paper with an all-over guilloche underprint of repeated crossed-hammer mining symbols across the entire field. The issuer's name in Gothic blackletter script arches across the upper portion, while the denomination 'Zwei Mark' is set in large bold type within a central oval guilloche vignette; a serial number with prefix letter 'A' appears in the upper right corner. Lower text references approval by the Royal Prussian Ministry of Trade, the validity date of 31 January 1919, and a clause stating that the obligation of redemption lapses upon expiry of that term. |

| Descripción del reverso | Printed in red on pink paper with the same all-over guilloche underprint of crossed-hammer mining motifs as the obverse. Three interlocking circular guilloche rosettes occupy the centre, the middle one bearing a shield with crossed hammers — the heraldic emblem of the Mansfeld copper-shale mining company — flanked by the numeral '2' in each outer rosette with 'Mark' below. The issuer's name in Gothic script runs across the top, 'Eisleben' appears at the bottom, and a rectangular blue handstamp reading 'Ungültig' is applied to the upper left. |

The Mansfeldsche Kupferschiefer bauende Gewerkschaft — the mining cooperative that worked the Mansfeld copper shale deposits in Saxony-Anhalt — was one of the oldest continuously operating mining enterprises in Europe, with documented extraction in the region stretching back to the thirteenth century. During the hyperinflationary crisis of the early 1920s, many German industrial firms and municipalities issued their own emergency currency, known as Notgeld, to compensate for the chronic shortage of official small-denomination notes. This 2 Mark piece is one such issue.
Eisleben, where this was printed, sat at the heart of the Mansfeld copper district — the same town where Martin Luther was born and died, a fact the cooperative occasionally leveraged in its promotional materials.
