正面描述 The obverse is printed in salmon-red and dark blue on plain paper, with a dense letterpress underprint composed of words relating to Schleswig-Holstein regional identity arranged in horizontal rows across the entire field. Centred at the top is the denomination '2 M.' in large bold type above the word 'ANWEISUNG', followed by a three-line German text instructing the Bank für Handel und Gewerbe, Altona, to pay the bearer the stated sum until 1 March 1922. The issuing authority 'Landesbürgerrat Schleswig-Holstein' is printed below the text block, with the place and date 'Altona-Elbe, 15 Febr. 1922' at lower left and the title 'Der Geschäftsführer' with a manuscript signature at lower right, all framed by a plain dark blue rectangular border.

备注

The Landesbürgerrat Schleswig-Holstein — the "state citizens' council" — was a short-lived administrative body that emerged from the post-WWI reorganization of the region following the 1920 plebiscites that divided Schleswig between Denmark and Germany. Emergency notgeld of this type was issued to address acute small-denomination shortages that plagued northern Germany in the early 1920s before inflation rendered such values meaningless within months. The issuing authority itself was unusual: a civic council rather than a municipal treasury or savings bank taking on the role of currency issuer.
