| 裏面の説明 | The central panel carries a detailed landscape vignette of Burg- und Stadt-Tost, with the castle silhouetted against a clouded sky above a wooded foreground rendered in fine black linework on a blue and white ground; the inscription 'Eichendorffs Vaterhaus' appears within the arch above the scene. Allegorical figures in Art Nouveau style occupy the left and right border panels — a robed female figure entwined with a bare tree on the left, and a mother-and-child group on the right — both attributed to the designer Klippert whose signature appears at lower right of the central vignette. A four-line verse by Joseph von Eichendorff is set within a decorative cartouche below the central scene, with the denomination '2 M' repeated in the lower corners and the design registration mark 'D.R.G.M. 795679' printed below. |

Gleiwitz sat at the center of the Upper Silesian plebiscite crisis of 1921, and the notgeld issued by the Oberschlesischer Kulturverband — the Upper Silesian Cultural Association — was explicitly political in intent. The association was a German nationalist organization actively lobbying to keep the region within Germany during and after the March 1921 vote, and its emergency currency carried that agenda as plainly as any pamphlet.
Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau were prolific producers of collector-grade notgeld during this period, and the Klippert-designed pieces from this issuer show the careful engraving quality typical of their better commissions — aimed as much at the souvenir market as at actual small-change circulation.
