| 备注 |
F. Thörl's Vereinigte Harburger Oelfabriken was one of Germany's major vegetable oil processing companies, operating out of Harburg-on-the-Elbe. This note is corporate Notgeld — emergency scrip issued by a private industrial firm during the acute coin shortage of 1918, when the imperial government had effectively stripped small-denomination metal from circulation for the war effort. Companies paying daily wages needed something their workers could actually spend.
Printed locally by F. C. Bertram, the note would have circulated almost entirely within the Harburg industrial district, accepted by local merchants on the strength of the issuing firm's commercial reputation rather than any governmental guarantee.
