A prehistoric hunter stands on a dugout log at the water's edge, drawing a bow against a windswept sky, with reed beds at left and a cluster of pile-dwelling structures visible on the lake in the middle distance — an evocation of the ancient lake-settlement culture of the Federsee. Denomination panels reading '2 Mark' appear in the upper corners, and the header inscription 'Stadt Buchau am Federsee' is set in Gothic Fraktur script across the top. |
