Obverse description Typographically composed Notgeld note with a bold geometric border of zigzag and wave-pattern bands framing the entire design. The denomination numeral '2' appears in large script within octagonal cartouches at left and right, with the word 'Mark' below each; the heading 'ZWEI -- MARK' runs across the top in bold block letters. The central text panel carries the issuer's name, a dedication inscription noting the note is intended for collectors of Notgeld and friends of local history rather than for actual payment, the date 'Buchau, den 23. Juni 1921', and three manuscript signatures of the Vorsitzender, Kassier, and Schriftführer above a printed serial number. The bottom margin bears the place name 'BUCHAU A. FEDERSEE' in large capital letters.

Reverse description The reverse carries a large illustrative vignette executed in a confident line-engraving style, occupying nearly the full note surface. A prehistoric hunter stands on a dugout log at the water's edge, drawing a bow against a windswept sky, with reed beds at left and a cluster of pile-dwelling structures visible on the lake in the middle distance — an evocation of the ancient lake-settlement culture of the Federsee. Denomination panels reading '2 Mark' appear in the upper corners, and the header inscription 'Stadt Buchau am Federsee' is set in Gothic Fraktur script across the top.
