The central vignette shows a vaulted brick archway through which an elderly Frisian fisherman or islander in traditional white hooded garb stands, holding a telescope or instrument; above the arch a scroll banner carries the North Frisian motto 'LIEVER DÜD AS SLAW!'. Flanking the arch are stylised crenellated brick tower motifs in red.
