To the left of the figure, the quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg appear on a shield. The circumferential Latin legend, separated by mullets, reads GEORG:LVD:D:G:D:BR:&L:S:R:I:EL, identifying the issuer as George Louis, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Arch-Treasurer and Prince-Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The border is formed by a beaded inner circle and a plain rim. |
