| Obverse description | Central field bears the elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Mehmed V, rendered in fine relief with characteristic looped and extended strokes. A small ornamental cartouche appears to the upper right of the tughra. The regnal year numeral appears below the tughra in Arabic script. Eleven six-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the field, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
