| 表面の説明 | The obverse displays the Icelandic coat of arms — a quartered shield featuring the traditional supporters — surmounted by a royal crown, with the crowned royal cypher of King Christian X of Denmark (C X R) positioned prominently within the design. The date appears in the field, with the royal monogram indicating the reigning sovereign. The overall composition is rendered in a formal heraldic style consistent with Danish colonial coinage of the early twentieth century. |

Iceland had no mint of its own, so these were struck in Copenhagen — a pointed irony given that the 1925 issue appeared just as Icelandic independence sentiment was hardening following the 1918 Act of Union, which made Iceland a sovereign kingdom in personal union with Denmark. The arrangement satisfied almost no one on the Icelandic side, and pressure for full separation grew steadily throughout the run of this coinage.
The series spans two Hede references, reflecting a documented difference between the 1925–1931 strikes and later issues.
