Thông tin bổ sung

Frederik IX ascended to the Danish throne in April 1947 following the death of his father Christian X, and this 2 Kroner type was introduced that same year to mark the transition. The aluminium bronze alloy was a postwar practical choice — nickel remained in short supply across European mints well into the late 1940s, and the golden tone of the 92/6/2 mix offered a visually distinct coinage without drawing on restricted materials.

Production ran through 1959, when Frederik's only son — had he had one — might have prompted a new type. Instead, the series ended as Denmark modernized its coinage ahead of the 1960 series revisions.
