| Popis rubu | The reverse is printed in brown on a fine guilloche underprint, with a matching scalloped border and numeral-20 medallions in each corner. The issuer name BANK OF CHINA appears in bold letterpress across the top, below which a small scroll panel carries the promise-to-pay legend. A large intaglio numeral 20 dominates the centre above the denomination panel TWENTY CENTS in bold serif capitals. Two manuscript signatures appear in an oval cartouche, identified by the printed titles GOVERNOR and MANAGER respectively, with the red serial number repeated below. The date 1ST JULY 1925 and place name SHANGHAI are printed at the foot, with the printer's imprint WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED LONDON along the lower margin. |
