The eagle's breast bears a decorative foliate device. The circular legend reads CONSTITUIRENDE VERSAMMLUNG I.D.F. STADT FRANKFURT 18. MAI 1848, with a star stop, running around the full periphery of the field. The design is executed in a neoclassical German style with finely milled borders. |
