| Beschrijving voorzijde | Left-facing draped bust of Queen Anne, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a ribbon tied at the back, with loose curling locks falling to the shoulder. The effigy, engraved by John Croker, is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery fastened at the breast with a bow. The Latin legend ANNA·DEI·GRATIA· ('Anne by the Grace of God') runs around the periphery, interrupted by the truncation of the bust at lower left. The inner border is formed by a beaded rim characteristic of early eighteenth-century milled English gold coinage. |
