| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long cross pattée extends to and intersects the outer legend, dividing the reverse field into four quarters. At the centre, a smaller quadrilobe is ornamented with fleur-de-lis motifs, while trefoils fill the exterior angles between the arms of the cross and the quadrilobe. The design follows the standard architectural cross type common to Netherlandish gros coinage of the late medieval period. The peripheral legend in Gothic lettering declares the coin a new money struck at Valenciennes. |
