正面描述 A long ornate cross pattée occupies the full field, its arms terminating in decorative Gothic floral extensions and crowned lion terminals in the cantons. At the centre of the cross is a small escutcheon bearing the rampant lion of Brabant. The four quadrants of the cross are filled with alternating fleurs-de-lis and crowned lions, reflecting the heraldic programme of Philip the Good as Duke of Burgundy and Brabant. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial characters reads: ✠ PHS ⵓ DEI ⵓ GRA ⵓ DVX ⵓ BVRG ⵓ BRAB ⵓZ ⵓ LIMB, identifying Philip by the grace of God as Duke of Burgundy, Brabant, and Limbourg. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, as is characteristic of hammered coinage of the period.

背面描述 A long cross pattée divides the field into four quadrants, each canton containing a heraldic device: two crowned lions passant and two fleurs-de-lis, alternating diagonally in a manner consistent with the Burgundian-Brabantine arms. At the centre of the cross is a lozenge-shaped escutcheon bearing the Brabant lion rampant. The arms of the cross feature double lines with decorative cusping at the terminals, exemplifying the refined Gothic die-cutting style of the mid-fifteenth century Low Countries mints. The circular legend in uncial Latin script reads: ✠ MONETA ⵓ NOVA ⵓ DUC ⵓ BRABANT, proclaiming this as the new coinage of the Duchy of Brabant. The hammered flan displays the characteristically uneven and clipped outline typical of medieval billon coinage.
