Reverse description A bold long cross pattée extends to the coin's inner circle, dividing the reverse into four equal quadrants, each containing a plain field. Two concentric legend bands in Gothic uncial lettering surround the central cross: the inner legend reads SIT ⋮ NOMEN ⋮ DOMINI ⋮ BENEDICTVM and the outer legend reads MONETA · DE · FLANDRIA, together forming the pious inscription 'Blessed be the name of the Lord — Coinage of Flanders.' The legends are separated by a double beaded border, and the entire design is framed by an outer beaded rim typical of hammered Flemish billon coinage of the period.
