Obverse description Central intaglio vignette of the Citadelle Laferrière (Citadelle Henri Christophe) set within an oval guilloche frame, flanked on each side by ornate rosette underprints bearing the numeral "2". The bank title "BANQUE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI" runs across the top in bold letterpress, with the denomination "DEUX GOURDES" in a decorative cartouche below the central vignette. Three signature lines for Le Gouverneur, Le Gouverneur Adjoint, and Le Directeur Général appear at the foot of the note, above the printer's imprint.

Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of the Haitian National Coat of Arms — a royal palm flanked by cannons, cannonballs, and military trophies, with the motto "L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE" on a ribbon below — set within a circular guilloche border. The bank title "BANQUE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE D'HAÏTI" is rendered in a scrolled banner at the top, and the denomination "DEUX GOURDES" appears in a bold cartouche beneath the arms. Interlaced "G" monogram vignettes in elaborate guilloche occupy the left and right fields, all printed in dark blue-black intaglio.
