| 表面の説明 | The entire obverse field is occupied by a multi-line inscription in raised Roman capitals arranged concentrically within a plain raised border, with no portrait or figurative device. The legend reads the full titulature of Landgrave Charles I of Hesse-Cassel, beginning with CAROLI / PRIMI at the top and continuing through his titles as Landgrave of Hesse, Prince of Hersfeld, Count of Katzenelnbogen, Diez, Ziegenhain, Nidda, and Schaumburg. Below the titulature the inscription MONETA PRIMA AVREA identifies the piece as a gold coin of the first type, followed by ÆDERÆ AVRIFLVÆ, denoting its association with the Eder River gold. The date Ao 1677 appears in the lower field. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays a richly detailed allegorical landscape scene in high relief, depicting a panoramic river view with a town or castle visible in the middle distance along the riverbank. In the right foreground, a reclining river deity or nymph figure is shown holding a large sheaf of grain or reeds, personifying the fertile Eder River and its gold-bearing waters. The sky above is animated with clouds and distant scenery, rendered in fine engraving. Encircling the scene is the German motto legend AN • GOTTES • SEGEN • IST • ALLES • GELEGEN (All depends upon God's blessing), with ÆDERA AVRIFLVA appearing in the lower exergue, referencing the gold-bearing Eder River from which the coin's gold was sourced. |
