She carries a seed bag over her left shoulder and sows grain with her outstretched right hand against a background of radiating sunrays and a distant horizon line. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE curves along the left and right rim respectively, with the engraver's signature O. Roty inscribed at the base. The word ESSAI appears in the left field, identifying this piece as a trial strike. |
