The references tell an odd story: catalog cross-listings under 5-centime entries in both Mazard and Gadoury suggest this bronze piece was struck on the same planchet stock used for minor circulation coinage, then submitted as a 2-franc denomination proposal — a denomination mismatch that likely killed its chances before any official review.
