| 表面の説明 | Bare-headed effigy of Prince Louis II facing left, modelled in high relief with finely rendered facial features. The engraver's signature L. MAUBERT appears incuse at the base of the truncation. The circular legend reads LOUIS II PRINCE DE MONACO, separated from the field by a continuous beaded inner border. The portrait is rendered in a restrained, naturalistic style characteristic of early 20th-century French medallic art. |

Louis II ruled Monaco throughout the German occupation of France, and the principality's wartime status was complicated — Italy annexed Monaco outright in 1943, only for Germany to assume control months later following Italy's armistice. Coin production during these years was constrained by both material shortages and political instability. The aluminium bronze composition of this 1945 issue reflects postwar metal rationing rather than any deliberate design choice; the prewar type had been struck in a different alloy entirely.
Louis died in 1949, making this among the final issues of his reign.
